Research assistant for research in labor economics
The ROCKWOOL Foundation Research Unit and the University Paris-Dauphine-PSL are seeking a full-time research assistant in labor economics for a duration of two years. The expected starting date is August 2025. The position is based at the ROCKWOOL Foundation Research Unit in Copenhagen.
The project addresses the question of recalls on the Danish labor market. Recall is rehiring a previously laid-off worker. We aim to measure the extent of recalls and how it changed over time, and to understand how recalling behaviors react to incentives created by the unemployment insurance. We are working with large administrative datasets, and we use the most advanced quasi-experimental methods.
We are looking for an independent, proficient and engaged candidate with strong quantitative skills. The position is ideal for students with an interest in labor market research, who are looking for research experience in an academic setting prior to enrolling in a PhD in Economics, or who want to develop their quantitative skills before turning to the non-academic job market. We offer an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in carrying out and developing research in applied microeconomics, under the supervision and training of experienced researchers.
The project is led by Clément Brébion (Researcher at the ROCKWOOL Foundation Research Unit), in collaboration with Laura Khoury (Assistant prof. at the University Paris Dauphine-PSL). While based in Copenhagen, visiting stays in Aarhus and Paris will be possible.
The ROCKWOOL Foundation Research Unit works impartially and scientifically to deliver research that contributes to strengthening the social and economic sustainability of the welfare state. The research unit consists of 56 employees. About half of them are researchers, and the remainder are PhD students, research assistants and student assistants.
